Caonillas Water Reserve Area

Caonillas is located about three miles from the municipality of Utuado, built in 1948 to generate electricity. The surface area of 283.3 hectares with 60 cubic hectometres. It is supplied by the waters of the Caonillas River, Jauca River, Río Grande de Jayuya and several tributary streams. In this lake, you can find good bass fishing, chubs, bearded and tilapia. The route for the lake is leaving from Utuado to the southeast, along highway number 111 and then number 140 towards the north. If you leave from Florida you follow the road 140 to the south.
